Earlston High School have won the under-18 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Plate competition at Murrayfield with a win over Carrick Academy.
The match was played in front of a 300 strong crowd, who were treated to nine tries which were scored between the two teams. The match ended 33-22 to the Borderers.
A hat-trick and Man-of-the-Match performance from Earlston centre Connor Spence was the decisive factor which ended Carrick’s hopes in their first ever national boys final.
The under-16 Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Plate final saw Jedburgh Grammar School come out on top of a very entertaining conclusion to the tournament.
In the all Borders final played at Murrayfield, both Jedburgh Grammar School and Peebles High School showed their character and determination while they played an open and attacking game of rugby, the former winning 39-12.
