Melrose have made just one change to the starting XV for the BT Premiership final at The Greenyards on Saturday (3pm).
Craig Jackson comes in at inside centre with George Taylor the unlucky one to miss out. He is on the bench.
Tighthead prop Nick Beavon is released by Edinburgh Rugby and will be on the bench.
Three to watch
Austin Lockington: The winger was on fire at the Melrose Sevens last weekend and he makes things happen, pace to burn.
Ruaridh Knott: An unsung hero of this team, the big man just gets on with his job and has chipped in with a number of tries.
Iain Moody: The signing of last summer, the No.8 is a consistent performer and gets his team over the gain line.
What Head Coach Rob Chrystie says
“The BT Premiership Final this weekend at The Greenyards is sure to be full of passion and drama with both clubs desperate to be crowned 2017 Champions.
“Ayr, as always, will be well prepared by Calum [Forrester] and his team for this deciding game. They have shown over the course of the season they have the ability to score in a number of ways and their defence is always a challenge to break down.
“We have prepared well this week and understand what is required when playing in these type of games. With a huge crowd expected everyone is excited to get started in what is sure to be another Melrose-Ayr cracker.”
