Edinburgh Rugby today announced the signing of BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy back-row Ally Miller on a two-year deal, which will see him serve his hometown club until May 2019.

Miller was one of a number of players who moved down south to London Scottish at the start of the 2016/17 season as part of Scottish Rugby’s partnership with the Richmond club, making 15 appearances during his tenure in the English Championship.

The back-row also recently made his Scotland 7s debut in Las Vegas and was yesterday named in the representative team’s squad for this year’s Hong Kong Sevens.

He is a product of the Scotland age-grade system having played for the national U18 and U20 side, where notably he received a Man of the Match award in an away win over their Italian counterparts in the 2016 Six Nations.

Miller is familiar with Myreside having built his playing reputation with George Watson’s College with whom he lifted three consecutive Scottish Schools’ Cup titles – once at U16 level and twice at U18, the latter two titles of which he won as the side’s captain.
